Safeguards

Integrity at every stage of the exam

No single check stops every trick. RootPro layers them, so getting past one still leaves a trail in the next.

Before the exam

  • Photo-ID and selfie match

Candidates show a photo ID and take a selfie; the faces are compared automatically and a reviewer can confirm any doubtful match.

  • One device per attempt

Once an exam starts it is locked to that device. A second phone or laptop trying to continue it is refused and recorded.

  • Clear consent

Candidates see exactly what is captured, why, and for how long, and agree before anything starts.

During the exam

  • Webcam proctoring

Regular photos plus extra captures the moment something unusual happens: a face missing, a second face, the camera covered.

  • Full session recording

The whole sitting is recorded with audio, so a reviewer can watch exactly what happened instead of guessing.

  • Second-monitor guard

If an extra monitor is connected, the exam is covered with a notice until it is disconnected, and the event is recorded.

  • Full-screen, tab and copy guards

Leaving full-screen, switching tabs, copying, pasting and opening developer tools are blocked or recorded.

  • Time limits enforced by the server

The clock lives on our server, not in the browser. Answers sent after time is up are refused, so a paused browser gains nothing.

  • AI-agent shield

Browsers driven by automation tools or AI agents are detected and the exam is covered, and clicks that look automated are recorded for review.

After the exam

  • Automatic suspicious-pattern flags

Attempts that are unusually fast and near-perfect compared with everyone else are flagged for review, the signature of a stand-in candidate.

  • Answer-similarity checks

Our support team can compare every pair of candidates for the same uncommon wrong answers, the classic trace of shared answers.

  • Integrity score with evidence

Every attempt gets a clear band, from clean to review, with the photos, events and recording behind it.

  • Shareable evidence report

Send a reviewer or a parent a secure report link, or a WhatsApp-ready video of the session.

  • You decide what candidates see

Show scores and certificates, show only a submission confirmation, or keep results private until you share them.

How it works

From test to trusted result in three steps

  1. 01

    Create your test

Add questions or draft them with AI, then switch on the safeguards you need in the Security tab.

  2. 02

    Share access codes

Send one code per candidate or one for the whole group, by email or mobile number.

  3. 03

    Review with evidence

Watch the flagged moments, read the integrity score and export results to Excel.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

  • How does RootPro stop cheating in online exams?

Layers working together: a photo-ID and selfie check before the exam, a one-device lock, webcam photos and a full session recording during it, guards for full-screen, tabs, copy-paste and a second monitor, a time limit enforced by the server, and automatic flags afterwards for attempts that look suspicious. Every flag comes with the evidence, and a person makes the final call.

  • Can RootPro detect a second monitor?

Yes, in Chrome and Edge. When a second monitor extends the desktop, the exam is covered with a notice until it is disconnected, and the event is recorded for your review. A screen that is mirrored or cast to another display looks like a single screen to any browser, so for high-stakes exams we recommend a room view as well.

  • What if someone else answers while the candidate faces the camera?

That stand-in technique defeats ordinary webcam proctoring, because the candidate never looks away. RootPro flags attempts that are unusually fast and near-perfect compared with the rest of the cohort, and the session recording lets a reviewer confirm what happened.

  • Can AI agents take a RootPro exam?

We block the common ones. Browsers controlled by automation tools, which most AI agents use, are detected and the exam is covered; clicks that look automated are recorded for review. An agent driving an ordinary browser through the operating system, or a person reading questions to an AI on another device, is harder to stop, which is why the webcam, the recording and the fast-and-accurate review flag are there as well.

  • Is the time limit enforced if a candidate disconnects or pauses their browser?

Yes. The timer runs on our server from the moment the exam starts. Answers that arrive well after the time is up are refused, while short network drops near the end are still accepted so honest candidates are not penalised.

  • Are correct answers ever sent to the candidate's browser?

No. Answer keys and explanations stay on the server, and marking happens there too.

  • Do candidates see their results?

You decide. Show scores and certificates straight away, show only a confirmation that the test was received, or keep results off the candidate's profile entirely and share them yourself.

  • How many candidates can sit at the same time?

Plans include up to 1,200 candidates sitting at once, with camera and recording on. Larger events are arranged with our team.
